The MGT sponsored Saltburn Cricket Club Under 11 team managed to round off their season in style earlier this month as they were crowned the 2019 Ramage Cup champions on a pulsating finals day. Saltburn began the day with a semi-final victory over Thornaby, setting up a final showdown with familiar foes Skelton.
Skelton had just last month pipped Saltburn to top spot in their league, as the season came to a close with the two teams locked together on 63 points at the summit of the NYACC U11 South league table. Skelton were crowned champions by virtue of head-to-head record, thanks to a narrow 3-run victory when the two teams met earlier in the year.

Saltburn headed into the final seeking revenge for the bitter disappointment of missing out on the league championship and held their nerve to come out on top in another tight contest. The game came down to the final ball, with Saltburn taking a wicket from it to secure a 4-run victory in a thrilling match.
