In December 2017 the number of staff working on the TeesREP site passed 500, with 280 from Teesside and a further 130 from the wider North East - a combined total of over 80%. In the same month progress on the steel structure of the 73-meter high boiler house reached the point where mechanical installation of the boiler itself can now begin, a process which will take over a year and be done by specialist contractor Atlantic Projects Company.
