Grangetown Boys Club U17’s, who we at MGT Teesside are incredibly proud to sponsor, are currently just one step away from the Challenge Cup Final, and a lucrative trip to Middlesbrough FC’s excellent Rockliffe Park training facility where this year’s final will be held. MGT Teesside would like to wish the boys the best of luck for their Semi-Final in early March, and for the potential showpiece Final in May.
Despite some patchy results in the first half of the season, the side have been imperious thus far in the cup, and have made significant improvements to their league form since the turn of the year, thanks in part to the confidence instilled in the players by their fantastic cup run. All of this is despite losing 5 boys, as they made the step up from the U17 team into the Senior Men’s side.
Away from the pitch the Grangetown Boys Club as a whole are making positive strides towards improving the infrastructure around the club, with among other things, a resident fitness instructor and a goalkeeper coach recently being brought on board, and some of the boys will be looking to take their level 1 coaching badges in the summer, enabling them to coach the club's younger academy children. The club continue to go from strength to strength and have around 15 active teams ranging from U6 Boys to the Senior Men, meaning they continue to provide youngsters with an activity to aid in their development into responsible young adults.
