Redcar Town U13 Girls continued their dominance in the second half of their league campaign, winning the U13 City of York North League with a record of 10 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat, agonisingly close to completing an unbeatable league season. The girls didn’t though only reserve their impressive performances for the league, they also reached the semi-finals of the U13 League Cup, only being knocked out via the dreaded penalty shootout.
Even more impressively, in what was described by their coach Stephen Cole as their “biggest achievement this season”, the team were entered into the U14 North Riding County Cup, coming up against teams a year older than them. The girls managed to not only compete but impressed as they won through to the final of the competition, falling just short of an improbable triumph with a narrow 2-1 defeat to York Railway Institute U14 Girls in the final.
The girls came away with their heads held high and can be incredibly proud of their many fantastic achievements this season. All of us here at MGT Teesside to would like to congratulate the players and all of the hard-working staff behind the season on an outstanding 2017-18 season.
