MGT Teesside has welcomed the finalisation of a formal agreement between engineering construction workers’ unions Unite and GMB and contractors from the consortium which is building the Tees Renewable Energy power plant adjacent to the Tees Dock outside Middlesbrough. The agreement incorporates the use of the National Agreement for the Engineering Construction Industry (NAECI) a nationwide agreement between the two unions and the signatory Employers’ Associations.

The right way to deliver a large project such as this is to co-operate constructively with all stakeholders, so this is a very positive step”.
